I am completely done with my Christmas shopping and all my packages have been mailed off. I only need to address a few Christmas cards (I'm not sending many this year.) and then I will able to just enjoy the season. I'm excited for my kids to get theirs, I'm excited for my husband and my Mom too. Heck I'm excited for everyone to get their presents from me, I think I did extremely well this year in my making and buying presents. I'm mucho pleased and I'm thrilled to be done. I even have almost all of it wrapped too.
When Santa Clause 2 came out we all went to the theater to see it and I loved it just as much as the second one. I've always loved Tim Allen, Home Improvement was a staple in our house when my husband and I were much younger. We never missed it.
When Santa Clause 3 was in theaters my MIL took the kids to see it. I didn't go with them, I don't remember why, I do remember being jealous because I wanted to see it in theaters too! So when I saw it was coming to video I asked my husband to get it asap!
This one was just as good as the first two. I was worried about hating Martin Short's character, Jack Frost. But I didn't need to worry because he was perfect.
The kids and I laid on my son's bed and watched it tonight, we should have saved it for when we were decoration the house but I couldn't wait. I told my husband I wanted to own it, so I'm sure we won't be taking our copy back anyway.
Its totally worth renting or buying. I give it 5 Christmas Trees!
You know, I've mentioned it a lot lately but it is coming sooner than we think. Christmas is like 83 days away. So on payday I've got a date with Chief, the Coupon Chief that is.
I'd really like to get my daughter an ipod. I know she'd just be so tickled pink. It would be her only present besides stocking stuffers. If you buy an ipod from the Apple store you get free engraving! Of course I can’t forget to add in some itunes from the music store.
For my son, it would be great if I could get him his own computer. This could only happen if I got one of the Grandparents to go in on it with us. But getting him a Dell would be the coolest Christmas present ever. And he wouldn't be on my husband’s computer in the bedroom with me all the time.
Better start making my list and emailing a couple of Grandparents. Gotta love those Grandparents.
Every year the place where my Mom lives has a Christmas Bazaar and a percentage of the money they make goes towards a charity. So my Mom usually makes something to sell.
I found these cool placemat purses and I'm in love with them. So we're going to try them out. Here is a pattern for them but honestly its so easy even a person who doesn't sew could do this. Here are easy step by step directions for the purses on the left. Oh and you don't have to sew them either, you could use sewing glue. Its called OK to Wash glue.
So tomorrow we're going shopping for cheap placemats and we'll probably buy a few belts for handles, we'll also use ribbon. I don't think unless I was making it for someone special or myself would I actually buy purse handles. But that's just me. I'm going to make these for my MIL and SIL.
What is guaranteed to make you smile over the holidays?
Watching my kids open their presents
What makes you weepy during the holidays?
Having to spend Christmas day at my in laws
How will you spend Christmas Eve and Day?
Christmas Eve a bunch of my husband's family will be over as well as my Mom and we'll open some presents and have dinner together. Christmas day we'll open presents here then go out to my husband's parents.
What was your most memorable Christmas and why?
The Christmas my Mom bought my sister and I both these really fancy dolls you couldn't play with. Also my first Christmas as a parent, watching my daughter open her stuff.
Christmas form letters from friends -- pro or con?
I guess pro... I like to hear what they're up to.
Santa Claus is coming to town.
So this is sort of what Christmas looks like here at our house. Since I've got family coming into town tomorrow, I wanted to have my Christmas stuff up early. Normally I never decorate until after Thanksgiving. But this year, since my Aunt, Uncle, Brother, his wife, their daughter and possibly my other Aunt, her new husband, her children and their children will all be coming over to my house on Friday after the Wedding on Thursday I wanted to show off! And show off I will! Besides I love Christmas and this just gives me a little more reason to go C R A Z Y!
*Oh and the decorations were done all by me. My husband doesn't do ladders.
Be back after Thanksgiving, maybe. :o)
Show us something brand new.
I know its early... but I have relatives coming for Thanksgiving and I had horrible marks on the garden shelf where my beanies used to live. So I either had to paint the livingroom/kitchen/dinning room or I could hide the marks. I picked hiding the marks with pretty little christms trees and my own painted houses. The kids and I bought the trees & lights at T@rget on Saturday and I spent most of Sunday putting everything up there. The other side has snowmen but none of them are new so I didn't bother posting a picture.
