If you were suddenly granted the day off today, how would you go spend your free time?
Depends. Am I broke or do I have money to spend? Does my family also have the day off?
If I had money and my family was off we'd go shopping and frivolously spend money on random wants. I'd also go out to eat somewhere we don't normally splurge on then I'd take a nap and I'd finish it off with a trip to Outback.
If I had money and my family wasn't off. I'd go shopping and buy something for everyone of them and maybe myself, but probably not.
If I didn't have any money regardless if the family was off or not, I'd probably just nap.
I really really like naps.
What are you most grateful for in your life right now?

Without a doubt the health of my husband, mother and children. I'm so happy that my Mother at 72 years old is in very good health and could keep up with the best of them. Heck she could probably run a few youngins into the ground. My husband although out of shape is not been in any horrible pain for the most part. Thankfully my daughter is finally getting over whatever she had for the entire month of December. My son is also very healthy and feeling good.

Show us something you believe in.
That would be my family, but I'm going to have to post a picture later because I'd like to take a new one.
Oh man, Kid Nation tonight was so awesome! It was the best one yet. I'm loving that Blaine kid and I've always really like that Micheal kid. I thought Laurel let the power go to her head. I really dig that show. I think they for sure need to win the next reward though. Two times with no reward just isn't cool. I was really shocked when Sophia said F-you to Guylan. I think CBS should have cut that and not just bleeped it out, knowing that kids are watching.
While working with my husband today I came across this dollar bill. I had to find out what the url led to. When I got home I went to the website, www.wheresgeorge.com, then entered the serial number. Seems my money hadn't traveled far yet, but I'm sure it will. After looking around more on the site I found a link to this news article. Its really a neat idea. The daughter bought the stamp for her dad for Christmas and now they only pay for their things with one dollar bills. They've been doing it since last year and have money all over the place in just about every country. A very cool way for a father and daughter to bond. I've told my husband to get me every marked bill he comes across.
My son started taking showers before school this year. Sometimes it doesn't work so well because my husband also showers in the morning. Usually my husband is gone before we even wake up, but lately he's been going in a little later, just because he's burnt out. So this morning was one of those times when they both wanted in the shower at the same time. Normally not a problem, husband just lets him in. This morning though, my husband's back was hurting so he wanted all the hot water to himself (My son doesn't share to well in the shower.)
I finally got my son in and we were talking about how there wasn't a lot of hot water left. I told him that daddy didn't have a lot of hot water either. His response reminded me how a child's mind works. He said "Yeah and he stayed in the shower for two whole episodes of Sponge Bob."
Time is just a matter of episodes.
Does anyone watch this? My kids and I have been watching it since the first episode. I know lots of people were horrified at the thought of these kids being out there by themselves. But I figure if their parents signed up them to do it then who am I to say its wrong. The kids and I are excited to see it every Wednesday. We all watch together and talk fast during the commercials about what we did and didn't like. There is a girl on there named Taylor oh man... if I was her parents I'd be so embarrassed. Granted she's only like 9 or 10 but she is one spoiled little brat. I can't imagine some of the younger kids being out there away from their parents. I asked my son if he could be away from us. He said "NO WAY! I'd be crying all the time." So Thursday is survivor night with my husband (sometimes, he doesn't always watch it). But Wednesday night is Kid Nation with my munchkins.
My oldest brother is 15 years older than me. He joined the service shortly after he got out of high school. I was only three. All of my memories of my oldest brother are good. I remember being around 10 when he got married for the first time. His wife wasn't a very nice woman, but she let me stay at their house when they weren't home, which I liked. His daughter recently got married. I was 13 when she was born, which made being an aunt seem surreal.
Two times in my life my oldest brother moved into our house in different manners. In once house they converted the garage into a little studio. We used to peek into the windows and watch him make-out with women. Another time he lived with us, he lived in a little guest house like building out back. My sister and I would go into his place and steal his change, he had one of those huge jugs of change and he never noticed.
He was a good great big brother, even though he wasn't around much since he was so much older.
What's your favorite card game?
My favorite card game is the card game my parents played whenever we visited family. Its called shanghigh and its a series of hands with certain cards to get each time. Like first hand being 2 sets (3 sets of the same card, like 3-5s), then the next hand is a set and a run (4 cards in the same suit in order) and the hands just increase from their ending in 3 runs (which is really hard!) My parents played this game all the time when I was a kid, its great now when we see family and I play the same card game, now that I'm an adult. It takes an extremely long time to play it but its fun as hell.
