The two boy dogs, Louie and Kirby are almost always with me. They follow me from room to room and they stay by my side during the day.
Diva, on the other hand is my daughter's dog. If my daughter is home then that's where Diva will be. But during the day when my daughter is at school she is either snuggling with Louie or wrapped up in a ball in my lap. Two more weeks of undies for that poor girl. Oh you see that little spot on the chair next to Diva, she allows me to place one butt cheek there. Isn't she sweet?
Kirby was a stray that followed us home from a bike ride. The kids and I asked if we could keep him and my husband told us no. So we went inside the house and tried to ignore his sweet little face. Next thing we knew this dude has dug his way into our backyard. How on earth could the husband say no to that?
Well, he did. We placed posters on all the stop signs and street lights in our neighborhood but no one called. After about a week I couldn't stand how dirty he was and how much stank hair he had so I cut it all off and bathed him. Man oh man did he not like that. He growled at me the entire time I was cutting his hair but once he got in the bath, he became a big wimp. That is until I tried to dry him off... then he went nuts on me.
Kirby was named Kirby because my husband and I swore the next dog we got would be named Kirby after the vacuum because dogs are just like vacuums right? Well, not this Kirby, he is a picky little butt and won't eat most things until he's sure it tastes good. He liked to hide his treats and wait to eat them until later. Unfortunately for him the other dogs don't want to wait, so he's forced to eat it now.
Do you have a pet? What kind of pet do you own, and why did you choose it?

Our family currently has three dogs.
Kirby followed us home from a bike ride and then dug his way into our backyard. We put up signs and after a week when no one claimed him he cut his hair and got him fixed and he became ours. Kirby is my son's baby, they play together, they hang out together and Kirby loves him to death. He is some type of terrier and he choose us. He is a runner though and given the slightest chance to run out of the house or yard he takes it. He always comes back home though.
After our Gooch (My first baby, 17 years old) died we started searching the Humane Society (animal shelter- save a life, mutts are better than purebreds any day of the week). We'd go once a week sometimes more, my husband wanted a boy dog and I wanted a younger dog. One day my son yells out "This one's got a weenie!" I called my husband and asked if it was ok if we got a dog that was a little bigger than our other dogs. We bought him on the spot. Louie is my baby even if he's a huge dog. He is the first big dog I've ever had and I love him tons. He is the sweetest dog on earth and he can catch things in the air. He's uber cool!
Diva is was the dog of my dreams. I had always wanted a pug dog. One day while at work my husband saw this boy kicking this little pug dog. He yelled at the boy to knock it off and asked if the dog was his. The boy said no, the dog was following him and it made him mad so he kicked it. We put up signs and again after a week she became ours. She is my daughter's baby.
What do you think your pets would act like if they were people? Do you think you'd get along with them?

That's easy...
Diva, my daughter's pug dog would be just as her name implies. A total bitch in both senses of the word. And no we would not get along. She would be a high maintenance woman that thinks we should all serve her and bow to her feet.
Kirby, my son's terrier dog would be the male form of a diva, instead being a divo! He too thinks the world should wait on him and serve him only the best foods on a golden platter. I don't think he and I would get along. Although in his doggie state he is by far my favorite one to cuddle with.
Louie, my boxer/pit dog would be a dopey dude, maybe even a stoner. He's just one big walking goof, never realizing what is going on around him and just in a constant state of happiness. He and I would get along great... ignoring the real world and just being chill.
My Gooch dog, that passed. He would have been a smart man. He would have been able to school you on any given subject and not in a snooty way. He would have been perfect boyfriend material. Awww sweet Gooch.
So this is sort of what Christmas looks like here at our house. Since I've got family coming into town tomorrow, I wanted to have my Christmas stuff up early. Normally I never decorate until after Thanksgiving. But this year, since my Aunt, Uncle, Brother, his wife, their daughter and possibly my other Aunt, her new husband, her children and their children will all be coming over to my house on Friday after the Wedding on Thursday I wanted to show off! And show off I will! Besides I love Christmas and this just gives me a little more reason to go C R A Z Y!
*Oh and the decorations were done all by me. My husband doesn't do ladders.
Be back after Thanksgiving, maybe. :o)
How many pets have you owned in your lifetime? Tell us about them.

Muffin was found in a grocery store by my brother. She was abused and was very timid. My brother's wife didn't like her so she became mine. She lived for a very long time and was my best friend through all my teen years. Muffin had to be put down in 1988 and it was by far one of the hardest things I've had to do.
Valentine (No Photo) - Valentine was a stray dog that got her name because she showed up on Valentines day. She was a mutt, fluffy little black and white thing, but was she ever cute! We didn't have her very long, we lived on a very busy road and my friends had accidently ran her over.
Gooch was my "first child". I wanted to have kids, my husband wasn't ready yet so I started going to the pound. I found Gooch and brought him home in my shirt. He was the best babysitter ever and was always very protective of "his kids." He went everywhere with us. We would pay extra for him to stay in the hotels we stayed in and he always got his own cheeseburger when we went through a drive-thru. He lived to be 16 years old. We had to put him down October 2005. I will forever and always miss Gooch and I will never forget the wonderful years he gave me.
Kirby came to us about 2-3 years ago. The kids and I were out on a bike ride and he kept following us. When we got back home we checked for tags and asked my husband if we could keep him. He said no, so we left him out front. For the next two days, he kept diggin his way into our yard. We placed flyers out in the neighborhood for two weeks and then when no one claimed him he became ours.
Louie was my first ever BIG dog. We got him in January of this year from the pound. He was just a tiny little puppy but at almost 11 months old now he's pretty big. He doesn't realize he's big and thinks he is still a lap dog. (Louie is my most favorite dog out of the three we have now, but don't tell that to the other two.)
Diva is the newest addition to our family. She showed up at my husband's work one day. I've always wanted a pug dog, so he called me up to come get her. We again put up flyers at his work to see if anyone would claim her, after two weeks she became ours. Although I've always dreamed of having a pug, she and I don't seem to dig each other to well. She has claimed my daughter as her own and I'm just fine with that since she makes me itch horribly.
I've had several cats during my childhood. My favorite cat was Angel, she was a pretty calico cat and I got her knocked up as often as possible. My Mother got tired of having kittens and she made me get rid of her. My next cat was a gray cat I named Shadow. When we moved from Idaho to Oregon, Shadow ran away. She was the last cat I'll probably ever own since my husband doesn't like cats. I know I've got pictures of Angel and I'm not sure about Shadow but I don't feel like scanning them in right now.
I love animals, all of our pets are more like family than like pets.
