What's holding you back from your dream job?
Submitted by Question of the Day.
I'm already working my dream job. I'm a wife and mommy and it is the only thing I want to be.
Last month I participated in this contest and I won this awesomely cool Hamilton Beach® Eclectrics® Mixer! I'm giving it to my Mom for Christmas because she's just that wonderful. I can't wait to see her face! And yes, those are my pajamas and I look like a total dork... but I won this kick butt mixer!
It's dedication time. What song are you sending out, and who is it dedicated to?
My Dad - the man who taught me about butterfly kisses. Miss you Dad.
Today while sitting in the parking lot at my son's school I gave him butterfly kisses before he walked out the door.
And of course my Momma who's been my everything.
Every year the place where my Mom lives has a Christmas Bazaar and a percentage of the money they make goes towards a charity. So my Mom usually makes something to sell.
I found these cool placemat purses and I'm in love with them. So we're going to try them out. Here is a pattern for them but honestly its so easy even a person who doesn't sew could do this. Here are easy step by step directions for the purses on the left. Oh and you don't have to sew them either, you could use sewing glue. Its called OK to Wash glue.
So tomorrow we're going shopping for cheap placemats and we'll probably buy a few belts for handles, we'll also use ribbon. I don't think unless I was making it for someone special or myself would I actually buy purse handles. But that's just me. I'm going to make these for my MIL and SIL.
Show us something (or someone) old and beautiful.

The second picture was my Mother's china hutch. She treasured this hutch. When my father died she had us kids each pick something that meant something to us. She knew I had always loved her hutch so she told me to take it . She wanted us to have our "inheritence" now while she could still watch us enjoy the use of it. My sister asked for our piano and my brother asked for my Dad's gun cabinet. Even though the china hutch doesn't really fit in my kitchen and looks a little odd in my living room, I'd never get rid of it. Inside that hutch holds my Dad's Mother's china from Occupied Japan. There are other things in there, precious things meant to be passed on and kept forever, just like the hutch itself.
So there you go, something old and someone old, both very beautiful.
What was your worst hairstyle decision ever?
It wasn't actually a decision I made on my own in all reality. I was about 10 years old. I hated, absolutely hated washing my hair because it was so long and was so hard to brush through. So I rarely did it. We had family in from out of town and we were all going out to dinner. My Mom told me to wash my hair and I tried to have a battle of wills with her. She got fed up and told me to wash my hair or she was going to cut it off. I laughed in the face of the devil that day because moments later my hair was in a ponytail and then poof it was gone. Three feet of hair gone in seconds, just because I thought I was a badass.
I learned several important lessons that day. The main one being don't mess with Mom, because in the end Mom will ALWAYS win and Mom almost always knows best!
Who taught you how to cook?
Submitted by Donna.
My momma taught me. She didn't teach me step by step how to do things, I just was always in the kitchen helping or watching her cook and learned that way. Later on I would cook dinner for both my parents.
My mother has a lot of protein in her urine. That's not a good sign. I will not panic... I will not panic. Testing to be done on the following Monday... seems like forever away.
